Kylian Mbappe made startling comments during his talk with the French-based station RTL. Mbappe warned that with the criticism that he has received as of late, it could end up playing a key factor in his final decision over whether to sign a new contract extension deal with the club.
Former Ligue 1 midfielder Mathieu Valbuena is questioning why Mbappe would provide for such comments. More so, Valbuena sees that even if Mbappe decides to leave PSG, he would still be prone to criticism at whichever club he chooses to join.
Valbuena responded to Mbappe’s comments during his talk with RMC Sport.
“He will be criticized as much abroad,” Valbuena said. “When he has performances below his status, he will be simply criticized.
“He is saying that he knows very well that he is a great player, a special player, a player who is predicted to have a great future. What he means is that he is fed up that there are always debates about him.
“Today, when you have criticism of such a player, I think you have to see it positively. Even though I know that as a player you don’t take criticism too much.”
Mbappe has continued to talk about his future at PSG but still, no decision has been made over whether he plans to remain at the club. The French forward is slated to become a free agent next year, so PSG would surely not want him to play next season without having signed a new contract extension deal.
