When former Paris Saint-Germain defeated FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie, many discussed the hat-trick performance from Kylian Mbappé.

The capital club headed into the fixture against the Spanish side with no Neymar Jr., who had picked up an injury before the first-leg. Nonetheless, without the 29-year-old, Mbappé put the French giants on his back offensively as they left the Catalan city with a 4-1 victory.

In the aftermath of the win, some pundits and journalists speculated whether Mbappé is better without Neymar. However, PSG captain Marquinhos doesn’t want to hear any of that nonsense. During his interview with RTL made his thoughts known over this matter.

“No. We have to stop with nonsense like that,” Marquinhos said. “We always want to have the best players with us. If you ask him Kylian, I think he also prefers when he has ‘Ney’ next to him.”

As the second-leg occurs this Wednesday, all signs point to Neymar playing in the fixture at the Parc des Prince against Barça. The Brazil international will be looking to have his signature performance against his former club.
