Video: ‘We Cross Our Fingers for PSG’ – Lille Manager Roots for Paris SG in Their Champions League Clash Against Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain remains the only French club competing n Europe as the capital club will face FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Knowing that Ligue 1 wants slots for European competitions, various managers and management types want Les Parisiens to go far in the Champions League. French clubs performing well improves the league’s UEFA index and provides them with more slots for Champions and Europa League.

As a result, Lille OSC manager Christophe Galtier is rooting for PSG in their matchup against Bayern Munich, as he stated during his press conference (via Canal Supporters).

“We cross our fingers for PSG but it’s hard. But you have to be a supporter of French football, so I am automatically a supporter of PSG in the Champions League. They pulled a big chunk but if Paris can have all of its workforces during these matches,” Galtier said.  “It’s a big draw, Bayern is very strong. Right now in Europe, there are Bayern and Manchester City. In the quarter-finals, the numbers and teams are very strong.”

“If PSG is not a victim of injuries and the absence of major players, they can compete and achieve the feat. Because eliminating Bayern would be an achievement. Are you going to play them right before? We already knew that. Mauricio (Pochettino) would surely have made the same preparation whether it was Bayern, Porto, Real Madrid, or another team.”
