Video: ‘We Played a Big Game’ – Marco Verratti Comments on PSG Eliminating Barça in Their Champions League Clash

Marco Verratti was a crucial figure in the 4-1 first-leg victory against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou. In the second-leg at the Parc des Princes, the 28-year-old didn’t feature on the score sheet generated assists; however, Verratti did play 84 minutes where he racked two key passes on 59 touches.

After the capital club eliminated the Spanish side following the 1-1 draw, Verratti spoke with PSG TVCanal Supporters relayed his words over advancing to the quarterfinals.

“As we always say, when you win and when you lose, it is played over the 180 minutes and against a great team. We faced a Barcelona team who have great players; they also showed that tonight. They played a big game tonight, and that means that what we did at Camp Nou two weeks ago is even more valuable,” Verratti said.

“Winning 4-1 there against a team like that is not easy; we played a big game. Tonight was a little more difficult. [Barça] of course, came here to catch up; they played with their heads free. We knew we had to defend well. We wanted not to take a goal, defend all together and then leave and find spaces. It was tough tonight; we ran a lot. That’s why sometimes we didn’t have a lot of the ball to get out.”
