Paris Saint-Germain has drawn the most difficult matchup as they’ll face FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. It what is a rematch of last year’s final, the capital club hopes that there’s a different result over these 180 minutes.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the club’s official website as the Argentine tactician discussed that matchup against the German giants. Pochettino understands that drawing anyone at this stage of the competition is a difficult challenge, but the squad has the goal of reaching the semifinals.
“We are happy to be at this level; it is the eight best teams in Europe who will compete; it is an honor to compete in this competition. The Champions League is tough to win, you have to play against the best, and we will face the defending champion,” Pochettino said.
“The draw would have been necessarily difficult, and the surprises exist, but we will play against those who are the best on the continent right now. We are optimistic; the team will be competitive, we have eliminated Barcelona, we will focus on Bayern, with one goal, that of qualifying for the semifinals.”
