There are not many dribblers in world football today who have such a world-class prowess in this skill as Neymar does. From his days toying La Liga defenders while with Barcelona to now fooling Ligue 1 opponents with Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar is simply among the elite talents in this skill set.
Just this season, the Brazilian ranks first in Ligue 1 (5.2) and fourth in the UEFA Champions League (4.2) in successful dribbles per game.
Neymar’s success as a dribbler is far from new. Just since the 2009/2010 season, Neymar has had four different seasons in which he has recorded 100-plus successful dribbles. Lionel Messi tops out at the most with 12 such seasons, which should not be a surprise to many.
This stat is quite notable considering that Neymar did not play his first season in Europe until the 2013-2014 campaign when he first joined Barca. More so, the Brazilian has as of late missed a multitude of matches due to multiple notable injuries.
Neymar is well establishing his place as one of the top dribblers of this era.
