Paris Saint-Germain could face multiple dilemmas over the upcoming summer transfer window. For one, PSG has been in the rumor mill for Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who will become a free agent at the end of the season. Such a move would not require PSG to post a transfer fee to acquire the forward, but the side would need to afford his yearly salary demands.
In an effort to shore up funds for a possible Messi free transfer signing, PSG may elect to offload Mauro Icardi, as noted by the Spanish-based outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The report speculates that such a move would be favorable for PSG from both a sporting and economic standpoint with the latter being to afford a possible Messi signing.
Icardi has been linked with other clubs as of late, such as Italian side Juventus. The Serie A powerhouse has simply been in the rumor mill for the Argentine as there have been no reports of the side having serious plans to sign him over the upcoming summer transfer window.
Icardi has picked up form as of late for PSG thanks to his key goal contributions in all competitions. Still, the club could very well sell the Argentine in order to bring in the Barca star.
