The Kylian Mbappé contract extension has dominated most headlines as the 22-year-old decides on his future. Real Madrid has been lurking, hoping that the Paris Saint-Germain superstar will want to depart the French giants.
Several media outlets in Spain have reported that talks between the capital club and Mbappé have not made positive progress.
However, Italian sports journalist Nicolò Schira states that Les Parisiens and Mbappé are working towards a contract extension that would keep the forward with PSG until 2026.
Furthermore, Schira reports that sporting director Leonardo and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi are confident that PSG will reach an agreement with its superstar.
This report from Schira comes off the heels of Fabrizo Romano’s column with Benchwarmers, where the Italian football journalist stated Mbappé’s priority is to negotiate with PSG.
It seems as though both sides could be inching closer towards an agreement. Still, many won’t celebrate until Mbappé puts pen to paper and extends.
