Leandro Paredes shared on the grand impact that Neymar has on Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar finally returned to action during PSG’s recent Ligue 1 fixture against Olympique Lyonnais. The Brazilian only featured in 20 minutes of the match, but at the least, it was a key opportunity for the forward to dust off rust after being out of action for over a month.
Even though PSG picked up key wins without Neymar, the team surely needed the Brazilian back as soon as possible. This is a statement that Paredes can attest to, which he shared just why in his talk with Telefoot.
“It’s very important for everyone that he’s in good shape, in good spirits,” Paredes said. “It’s incredible what Neymar can bring to us. And it is up to us to help him so that everything goes well for him. We have to get to his level in the Champions League.”
Neymar remains without a new contract extension deal. Still, Paredes aspires to see PSG seal new deals for Neymar and also Kylian Mbappe.
“Ney is very important for PSG, on and off the pitch,” Paredes said. “We would like him to stay with us as long as possible. The club will do everything possible to keep him and Kylian. We will continue to enjoy them and hope they stay.”
PSG will continue its stretch run of the season following the international break with a league match against Lille OSC, which will play a massive role in the ongoing tight title race.
