Icardi Left PSG’s Coupe de France Fixture Against Lille Due to Injury

Mauro Icardi finally ended his goal-scoring drought as he scored a keen tap-in goal in Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France fixture against Lille. But this was the lone highlight of the match for the Argentine.

Icardi wound up leaving the fixture in the first half due to a concerning injury. In his place, Mauricio Pochettino subbed Kylian Mbappe into the match.

Icardi was able to walk off the pitch on his own power, but he appeared to have suffered a slight hamstring injury during this domestic cup match.

Fortunately for PSG, the club has only one match remaining before the March international break as the side will take on Olympique Lyonnais in a Ligue 1 fixture.

If Icardi did happen to suffer a notable injury, the Argentine will then have several weeks to recover from it ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, which will kick off in early April.
