‘I Don’t Think of Barcelona or Anything Else’ – Emerson Discusses Future With Spanish Newspaper Amid Links to PSG

Right-back is a position Paris Saint-Germain wants to improve over the summer. Currently, FC Barcelona’s Emerson seems to be the top target for capital club sporting director Leonardo.

Over the winter transfer window, Les Parisiens engaged in talks with Emerson, who’s on loan at Real Betis. Now it seems as though the French giants want to pursue reignite its pursuit of the 22-year-old defender.

Furthermore, the Spanish side has given the green light for discussions between the player’s representatives and PSG. With Emerson’s name in the press over the last few days, the Brazil international spoke about his future to Diario de Sevilla

“I see what is coming out in the press, but at the moment, I am one hundred percent focused here (at Betis). I don’t think of Barcelona or anything else; I only think of Betis. We have ten important games, and we want to win them all if possible. When the season is over, I will start thinking about my future.”

If Leonardo wants to pursue this transfer target, Barça wants €25-million for the right-back. The asking price isn’t too much considering that’s where Transfermarkt places Emerson’s transfer value.

PSG needs to improve their right-back, even if they decide to exercise their option to buy on Alessandro Florenzi. Colin Dagba doesn’t seem long for the club, and so Emerson would be a massive upgrade.
