Video: ‘We Tried, but They Were Superior,’ – Barça’s Antoine Griezmann Comments on the Champions League Loss to PSG

Antoine Griezmann had a difficult night. The television microphones picked up the colorful conversation that he had with teammate Gerard Piqué. Furthermore, the 29-year-old did not factor on the score sheet and didn’t generate any chances that resulted in a goal for FC Barcelona.

Overall, the France international had a decent match, but Barça didn’t pay a significant transfer fee for that, especially in UEFA Champions League fixtures. After the game, Griezmann discussed the 4-1 Round of 16 loss to the media, where Diario AS relayed his comments.

“We tried, but they were superior, and there is little more to add. It is not the image we want to give, of course. You have to work and try until the last second. It was not a good game, and you have to work and improve. We will go out there to win. We know it is difficult, but we will not visit Paris on the return leg,” Griezmann said.

“As I said, with these teams, you have to play a perfect game, and we did not do it today. There was a moment when “We were better; then they were. But, indeed, we don’t like it, and it’s hard for them to give you four at home, so let’s see what happens in the second leg in Paris.”
