Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was one of the first people affiliated with the capital club to receive insults from FC Barcelona supporters.
The French giants eventually went into the Camp Nou and walked out with a 4-1 result for a first-leg victory in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Barça.
Les Parisiens left Spain with the last laugh, and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke with PSG TV to discuss the victory over the Catalan club.
“The players had a more than perfect match; it was an excellent performance from them. The coach and his staff have prepared the group very well for this meeting, we are pleased, but there are still 90 minutes to play. We have a lot of important deadlines coming up in the league, too; it is important to remain calm,” Al-Khelaifi said.
“I’m very proud of the players, I think the squad is strong, and they have to stay at this level. I also think of Kylian, and I am thrilled with his hat-trick tonight. It’s something historic for him and the club. We are all very proud of him!”
