In the intertwining world of football and social media today, all it would take from a player is a simple “like” on a post to drive up speculation on a matter. For Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, he did just that with his recent activity on Instagram.
A post on the social media platform Instagram shared a made-up and hypothetical conversation between Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar and Ramos. The post itself read: “Sergio, if you sign for PSG, I extend my contract the next day. And after me, Mbappe will also renew. If you join PSG we will win at least two Champions League.”
Ramos “liked” this post, which fueled rumors and speculation regarding his potential interest in joining PSG.
Ramos also likely caught the attention of Real Madrid when he “liked” a post that touched on his time with Los Blancos coming to an end soon. While he removed the “like,” it still had many talking about just what were Ramos’ intentions with his decision to “like” the post.

Ramos is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. He has reportedly been in contract extension talks with Real Madrid, but the two are far apart on such an agreement.
PSG has been linked with Ramos regarding a possible free transfer deal.
For Ramos, his Instagram “likes” are just mere speculation. Maybe he is attempting to attract attention toward his contract dilemma, or this could be him signaling that he is very well on his way out of Real Madrid. As mentioned, this is all just pure speculation at this point.
