PSG Mercato: ‘We Must Take a Position and a Decision’ – Leonardo Comments on the Contract Extension Status of Kylian Mbappé

June is vastly approaching, and in the coming months, Paris Saint-Germain will need to make a decision on Kylian Mbappé.

The 22-year-old’s contract expires in 2022, so if they can’t re-sign him to an extension, the capital club will need to explore the possibility of selling the France international.

After Mbappé’s hat-trick performance against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League at the Camp Nou, plenty of Real Madrid supporters want club president Florentino Pérez to pursue the forward.

In an interview with France Bleu Paris, PSG sporting director Leonardo spoke about the issue and was honest when discussing that they’re at a moment where a decision over Mbappé needs to arrive.

“Kylian, since he started in Monaco until today, it’s so huge and unique that we can’t discuss what he is or not, says Leonardo. He is, period,” Leonardo said. Over the contract extension, the Brazilian stated, “We arrive at the moment when we must take a position and a decision.”

Various reports such as those from media outlets like Foot Mercato suggest that the capital club has made an offer, and Mbappé laid out his conditions for an extension.

Nonetheless, there’s no agreement between both parties, and time quickly begins working against the French giants as they’ll need to decide what to do with Mbappé.
