The opening week of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 fixtures saw Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland steal the show.
At the Camp Nou, the 22-year-old registered a hat trick in the capital club’s 4-1 first-leg victory over FC Barcelona. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old striker had two goals in the German side’s 3-2 win over Sevilla FC in their away fixture.
Seeing these two young stars putting up these performances with other clubs isn’t sitting well with Real Madrid. Los Blancos is used to having these types of players in their lineup, which is why they’re going after one of them this summer.
Spanish football host Josep Pedrerol revealed on his program El Chiringuito de Jugones that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez wants to have one of those two players this summer.

Pedrerol doesn’t know which player will be their first option and which is their backup, but regardless, Los Blancos want one of the two. PSG will put up a fight, as they’re keen on extending Mbappé before considering selling him.
Dortmund is a selling club and won’t hesitate to sell Haaland if they’re met with an offer they can’t refuse. Real Madrid will have a much easier time negotiating with the German club rather than engaging in transfer talks with PSG.
