Kylian Mbappé is priority number one for Paris Saint-Germain as the capital club hopes to extend the 22-year-old.
However, that reality is far from guaranteed; thus, various media outlets have speculated a plan B for Les Parisiens if they’d have to sell the France international.
Most have pointed at the pursuit of Lionel Messi as an option to replace Mbappé short-term. Nonetheless, not many media outlets speculate long-term solutions for PSG should Mbappé depart.
Although contract talks with the FIFA World Cup winner remain ongoing, The Mirror reports that the French giants could pursue Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane as a possible replacement for Mbappé.
“Although fiercely committed to Tottenham, Kane longs for trophies, and he is known to be frustrated not to have one at White Hart Lane,” The Mirror writes.
The English media outlet isn’t the only one connecting the 27-year-old to the French capital. Adrian Durham, a talkSPORT host, urges the Spurs’ superstar to venture abroad and reunite with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
If the capital club does face the reality of a Mbappé departure, it will be interesting to see what approach they take to replace him.
