Paris Saint-Germain walked into the Camp Nou, and despite giving up the match’s first goal, the capital club scored four straight goals. Les Parisiens would come away with a 4-1 victory over the Spanish club on the shoulders of Kylian Mbappé’s hat-trick.

After the match, PSG captain Marquinhos spoke about the win over Barça with French media outlet RMC Sport. The 26-year-old touched on a variety of topics; the first was his initial reaction to the result. Marquinhos states that the squad learned from their mistakes to secure the win.

“Enormous, the evening is successful, and we bring the victory home with four goals. We know the advantages of this victory. We learn from our mistakes. We must remain humble and simple; there are 90 minutes left for a great battle,” Marquinhos said.

“We have goals to seek, especially in Ligue 1. The season is not over, and we must continue to work. If we continue with this state of mind and this attitude, I think we have great things to achieve.”

The Brazil international then transitioned to discussing the team performance. Marquinhos didn’t single anyone out and instead talked about the group effort in PSG’s win over Barça.

“Huge. We have shown that we play as a team by playing compact and together and having the attitude and the personality to play. You can do great things; you have to keep this state of mind and not just take it out in great moments,” Marquinhos said.

“I l have to find this pattern to have an excellent level of play. We know it isn’t easy to play all the matches like that. It has to be our base now, with a good game, a good state of mind. We have to continue like this for all the matches of the season.”

Finally, the French media outlet couldn’t let Marquinhos leave the interview without asking him about the master class night from Mbappé. The 22-year-old put the Parisien attack on his back and scored three goals in his first match at the Camp Nou.

“He was in good shape; he showed. Everyone is happy with his performance. Kylian, who shines in the big matches that makes the difference, we know his quality. He brought us this victory,” Marquinhos said.

“Football is played as a team, but when the team is strong, we have the individualities that emerge afterward. Today, we played as a block and compact as a team.”
