Cafu Discusses Neymar With the Brazil National Team, the Lionel Messi Rumors, and Paris SG Transfer Target Sergio Ramos

Former AC Milan and AS Roma defender Cafu spoke with Marca, where the Brazil international touched on various topics. There were a few in which he discussed the ongoings of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spanish media outlet asked the 50-year-old over his thoughts on his compatriot, Neymar Jr. The 29-year-old is in the middle of his prime years. Cafu believes that this is his time to lead Brazil to greatness with the 2021 Copa América and 2022 FIFA World Cup on the horizon.

“It could be Neymar’s Copa América and Neymar’s 2022 World Cup,” Cafu said. “‘Ney’ has the responsibility of leading Brazil to great victories. I see him focused and connected on what he needs to do to be a world champion.”

Another topic that Cafu touched on with Marca is the FC Barcelona rumors that Lionel Messi could head to the French capital to join Neymar.

The Brazil international stated that he would like to see the 33-year-old depart considering that the fans will come out as winners if the two former teammates reunite.

“To see Neymar and Messi play together again would be sensational,” Cafu said. “We saw what both of them did at Barcelona years ago. I don’t know if Messi will go to PSG, but if he does, a fan will win.”

Finally, Cafu gave his thoughts on Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, who is linked to PSG, and whether or not he’d renew the 34-year-old defender.

“He is the best defense in the world, without a doubt. Technically he is outstanding and tactically as well. He is a good captain, a leader who always leads his team forward. A player that I would always like to have on my team,” Cafu said.

“I am not the president of Real Madrid. It is a complicated situation, but he is an exemplary player and has a history made with Real Madrid and a lot of history with the fans.”
