Report: The Details Behind How Pochettino is Working to Build a Strong Bond With the PSG Squad

It certainly has been a chaotic opening week for Mauricio Pochettino in his new role as Paris Saint-Germain manager. In just a span of days, Pochettino was introduced, held several training sessions, and managed his first match with the club. But behind the scenes, the Argentine manager has been working to build formidable relationships with the PSG players.

A report from ESPN detailed how Pochettino has laid out the groundwork to bonding with every player on the squad. For one, the report notes that the former Tottenham manager wants to get close with the locker room, and he will begin to do so by scheduling one-on-one interviews with each player.

Pochettino is aiming to be a players’ coach where “he wants them to like him too.”

Still, the report also alludes that Pochettino is not going to be a laid-back manager. He has stressed the importance of hard work and discipline.

One source from the report went a bit further and compared Pochettino to now-former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel. Pochettino is deemed to be “far more of a leader” than Tuchel.

This process will certainly be a lengthy one for Pochettino, as he just arrived at the club. He sure can begin to pile up momentum with a Ligue 1 home win against Brest.
