Report: PSG’s Projected Starting Lineup for First Fixture Under New Manager Pochettino

New Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino held yet another training session on Tuesday ahead of the team’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against AS Saint-Etienne.

Pochettino has been thoroughly preparing his side for this contest. As noted by RMC Sport, the Argentine manager upped the intensity a bit during the one-and-a-half hour-long training session on Tuesday. This session included warm-up exercises, physical exercises and a short 11 against 11 run.

The report notes that Pochettino was quite vocal during this training session. The new PSG manager called for his players to up the tempo and had a keen focus on going over details in regard to pressing, both when in and without possession.

More so, this starting 11 is the one that Pochettino is slated to go with for his PSG managerial debut:

Navas; Dagba, Kehrer, Marquinhos, Bakker; Gueye, Herrera; Mbappe, Verratti, Di Maria; Kean

Pochettino is presumably electing to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation, which is what he often chose to go with during his managerial run at Tottenham. Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria are expected to play out wide as wingers while Marco Verratti takes on the role as the central attacking midfielder.

With nine players out for this fixture against AS Saint-Etienne coupled with this being the managerial debut of Pochettino, expect to see a variety of experimental tactics and new approaches with this team.
