Paris Saint-Germain will have a bit more free time with no in-week fixtures this week, which means more time for training sessions under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

L’Equipe (via Culture PSG) reports that Pochettino will organize some high-intense training sessions before the squad travels to Lorient. The Argentine tactician’s workouts are known to be physically demanding.

Upon his arrival, Pochettino gave Les Parisiens a taste of his training sessions; however, Pochettino needed to dial it back a bit with fixtures popping up during the week.

Nonetheless, with more time for training sessions during the week, he can gradually increase the weeks’ workload. The capital club manager has adopted the “we play while we train” method and will begin testing his squad, with some pressure exercises and efforts to lose the ball.

With important fixtures in February, most notably the first leg of the UEFA Round of 16 matchup against FC Barcelona on the horizon, Pochettino will try to make sure his squad ready for these matches.
