Over the last few months, Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly shown interest in Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
In a recent interview with Marca, capital club manager Mauricio Pochettino discussed the possibility of bringing the 34-year-old to the French Capital.
El Transistor also reported that the Parisiens have a three-year offer on the table for the Spain international with an annual salary of €15-million. Well, it looks as though this information might have some legs with the latest developments between Ramos and Los Blancos.
During “El Chiringuito de Jugones“ program, Spanish football host Josep Pedrerol announced that Ramos would be departing from Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid already made [Ramos] an offer. Florentino told him what he could offer and asked him to lower his salary demands by ten percent, something that he asked the entire squad and that two players have already done,” Pedrerol said.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic affected clubs financial revenue, Ramos isn’t keen on lowering his salary demands. Already in his mid-30’s, the Real Madrid defender wants one last payday before he calls it a career.
Real Madrid would offer Ramos a two-year deal if he were to lower his salary demands, Pedrerol adds. However, with the defender unable to budge from his stance, there will be no more calls from club president Florentino Pérez. As a result, Ramos will be listening to offers, which could include PSG.
This news leaves the door wide open for the Parisiens to pursue Ramos and add more depth to their central defense. After Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe, there’s not much confidence in Abdou Diallo and Thilo Kehrer should injury arise or if Pochettino wants to give his two starters a day off.
