The talk surrounding Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe continues to be his future with the club. He is slated to become a free agent a year following this season, so until he officially signs a new contract extension deal with the club, there will be continual speculation on whether he may be nearing a departure.
Real Madrid continues to be linked with Mbappe, and for now, the La Liga side is continuing to formulate a plan on just how to fund such a blockbuster transfer move. A report from the Spanish-based outlet Mundo Deportivo mentions one route in which Real Madrid could garner up some funds for such a move, and it includes offloading current forward Eden Hazard.
The report adds that there is word that for Real Madrid, there are whispers regarding whether it may be best for the club to place Hazard on the transfer list as his value continues to trend downwards. Hazard’s transfer value is reportedly at €50 million, which is half of what the club shelled out to acquire him from Premier League side Chelsea.
From within the club, there are some open to the idea of selling Hazard for this fee in order to garner more funds for a possible Mbappe transfer push.
The report also notes that the idea of selling Hazard has not been seriously considered or pushed from within the club’s board, but it is an idea being brought forth into thought.
Hazard has struggled to find his footing with Real Madrid due to multiple injuries over his short run with the club. He has scored a mere three goals in two seasons so far with the Spanish side.
