PSG Mercato: Paris Rejects AS Roma’s Loan Offer to Swap Strikers

Edin Džeko is falling out of favor with AS Roma manager Paulo Fonseca, who recently left out the 34-year-old against Spezia Calcio.

Official reports claim that it is due to injury; however, Sky Sport ItaliaCorriere dello Sport (via Football Italia), and other media reported that the Bosnian’s absence was due to a disciplinary measure after an altercation in the training field with Fonseca.

With the winter transfer window open for a few more days, Roma begins to sort its priorities. According to Sportitalia (via Football Italia), Roma offered Džeko to Paris Saint-Germain in exchange for Mauro Icardi in a six-month loan deal swap.

However, Roma’s transfer offer for the Argentine striker wasn’t well-received by the capital club. As a result, they decided to reject the proposal.

Icardi has regained his form under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, and it wouldn’t be wise for Les Parisiens to part ways. Furthermore, the 27-year-old is younger, and if PSG were to depart, there are better options for Icardi.
