PSG Mercato: English Club Has Approached Di María Whose Contract Expires This Summer

Ángel Di María’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and unless Paris Saint-Germain extends the 32-year-old, he will leave on a free transfer this summer.

One club that’s already making contacts with El Fideo is Tottenham Hotspur, as LÉquipe (via Get French Football News) reports. The English club could use some depth at forward as they might decide against holding onto Gareth Bale, who’s on loan from Real Madrid.

Di María had one spell playing in England’s top-flight league, but his lone season with Manchester United FC is one to forget. Perhaps the possibility of redeeming himself in the Premier League could entice the PSG forward to listen to a Spurs offer.

Nonetheless, LÉquipe also reports that Di María and the capital club are engaging in contract extension talks. Any approach from Spurs could be to apply pressure towards Les Parisiens to secure a new deal, or perhaps it’s a fallback option if neither side can agree to an extension.
