Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria is currently in the middle of a notable contract extension dilemma.
One recent report noted that Di Maria and PSG are currently in talks for a multiyear extension. This would not only prevent the Argentine playmaker from leaving the club over the upcoming summer transfer window but also provide him with an opportunity to end his European career with PSG.
However, he has considered a return to Argentine side Rosario Central, where he began his playing days.
Di Maria noted last year that he has put some thought into someday returning to his homegrown club.
“I would also love to play in Rosario Central but in Argentina, many things have happened and there is a lot of insecurity,” Di Maria said. “It is increasingly complicated. It’s difficult and that’s why I go moment by moment.”
For the moment, this reunion may likely not be happening anytime soon. A report from the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato provided information that Di Maria is currently not interested in returning to Rosario Central.
The Argentine playmaker remains in contract talks with PSG, so any sort of a return to his home country to possibly retire there may be put on hold for the meantime.
