Former French Midfielder Sees Vast Improvements in PSG’s Performances Under Pochettino

The Mauricio Pochettino era with Paris Saint-Germain is now only four games old, but former French midfielder Eric Rabesandratana already sees notable improvements with the team’s performances.

PSG has come away with three wins and one draw in Pochettino’s first four games at the helm, which includes the Trophee des Champions final win over Olympique de Marseille. PSG has scored six goals while allowing a mere two, but for Rabesandratana, he is already liking what he is seeing from this PSG team.

Rabesandratan spoke to France Bleu on what he is noting from PSG’s showings as of late, including with several players in particular.

“The game is in the process of being set up,” Rabesandratana said. “We see behavior change on a collective level. We went a little bit on a continuous circuit. Constant in the effort, in the acceleration of actions. There is another state of mind. We find physical intensity, punch. The dynamic is there.

“There are players who are already doing well: Marquinhos, Navas, Verratti, Icardi. There are those who need to regain confidence and serenity: Di Maria and Mbappé. But we are in a period of adaptation and transition for all. I am sure we are on the right track. We must continue to believe that we will progress and perform. I see change. It just takes patience and persistence.”

PSG will have two more fixtures this month with the league contests against Montpellier and Lorient. But the team will have to move forward with the fixtures without Pochettino as the Argentine manager is currently away from the team due to a positive coronavirus test.
