There’s no question that the saga over the extensions with Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé is what the majority of Paris Saint-Germain supporters are paying attention to as the season goes on.
However, the concern over manager Thomas Tuchel’s contract status is a subplot to the 2020-21 season. BILD football journalist Christian Falk recently tweeted out that Manchester United FC is interested in Tuchel.
Nonetheless, it hasn’t caused PSG to discuss a contract extension with the German tactician, as he stated to RMC Sport ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against İstanbul Başakşehir.
“I can’t lose my mind about this because the situation hasn’t changed. We did not talk about an extension. We haven’t talked about my contract. Does this change anything for me? No. It doesn’t change the way I work. When I am the coach of PSG, I think 100% of PSG in my head, nothing else. In this period, it is not possible to think of anything else,” Tuchel said.
“The most important thing is to stay focused. This is a key phase for us. Either way, the situation is still the same. Nothing has changed.”
