Video: ‘The Idea of Leaving Doesn’t Cross My Mind’ – Neymar Hints at Remaining With PSG After Champions League Victory

With the Manchester United FC’s to RB Leipzig, Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the UEFA Champions League’s knockout stages. However, a win over İstanbul Başakşehir and the capital club would clinch first place in Group H.

In his last two matches, Neymar Jr. has played a vital role in getting Les Parisiens out of an early hole in the Champions League. The 28-year-old scored six goals in his last three fixtures as PSG needed to win their last three group stage matches to avoid UEFA Europa League.

After PSG’s 5-1 win over Başakşehir, the Brazil international spoke with RMC Sport to discuss his future.

“I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my teammates. The idea of leaving doesn’t cross my mind,” Neymar said. “An extension? We need to talk. We have a very good relationship, I am very happy and seeing what happens in the future.”

Then Neymar spoke about alleged racist remarks made by the fourth official towards Başakşehir assistant manager Pierre Webó, which led to the match’s postponement.

“This is a serious, very delicate subject. Unfortunately, this situation has taken place which is annoying. This took place with me at the start of the season. I know that it is not normal to suffer from an act, an insinuation for the color of his skin, for his race,” Neymar said. “It’s from the past. We have to do this (stop the game), we did very well. This is what went through my head and what I should have done the first time.”
