‘There Are Scores to Settle’ – French Football Journalist on the Champions League Matchup Between PSG and Barcelona

Furthermore, both clubs have met in 2013 and 2015, with Barça coming out on top on those occasions too. Then there’s the stuff that’s gone off the field with the Spanish Club looking to destabilize PSG players to force a move to Barça eventually. Then there’s the summer of 2017 with PSG doing the unthinkable and purchasing Neymar Jr.

Safe to say both sides aren’t exactly fans of one another, and for France Bleu Paris (via Paris Fansjournalist Stéphane Bitton, there’s plenty of scores to settle.

“There are scores to settle and hot issues between PSG and Barça. And it does not date from yesterday. There were the two eliminations in the Champions League in 2013 and 2015, the remount of 2017, the departure of Neymar, the Messi file, there were all the attempts to destabilize Barça with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Verratti,” Bitton said.

“There was Javier Tebas who does not like the Parisian model and Qatari funding, and then the Catalan press who will start today to tell us that Kimpembe, Mbappé, Marquinhos are of interest to Barça to destabilize PSG.”

After the draw came out, Barça’s Twitter account took the first jab tweeting the video of the sixth goal to complete the comeback in 2017.
