Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel is currently slated to become a free agent next year when his current contract with the club is up. For the moment, Tuchel fully expects this season to be his last one with the club, according to a report from Le Parisien.
The report adds that even if PSG approaches Tuchel to discuss a possible contract extension deal, the German manager would not enter into such negotiations as he expects to leave the club following this season. Tuchel’s entourage has reportedly established contacts with other clubs in anticipation of being available as a free agent manager next year.
The report does not pinpoint all the reasons as to why Tuchel has no interest in staying on with PSG. However, it did note that Tuchel is not fond of the “climate” around him. More so, he is not on good terms with the club’s sporting director in Leonardo and even expected to be sacked by him had the team been in serious danger of missing out on the UEFA Champions League knockout stage. While the club could still miss a spot in the knockout stage, PSG is very well in the driver’s seat to make yet another appearance in the Round of 16.
Tuchel has so far won six trophies in four different competitions with the club.
