Paris Saint-Germain is set to take on Olympique Lyonnais for a key first half of the season Ligue 1 clash. This fixture will be a grand opportunity for Lyon manager Rudi Garcia and his side as a win could give them a first place league standing for the first time this season. So for PSG, this fixture is a must-win contest if the club aims to begin to create separation away from the rest of the teams in the top half of the table.
RMC Sport speculated on the possible starting 11 that manager Thomas Tuchel may roll out for his side. The French-based outlet projects yet another 5-3-2/3-5-2 hybrid setup for PSG featuring these 11 talents.
Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Danilo, Kimpembe, Bakker; Paredes, Verratti, Di Maria; Mbappé, Neymar
The report notes that Marquinhos may be a doubt for the fixture as he is currently dealing with a slight hip issue. The Brazilian was not a full participant in the team’s recent training sessions. But for now, he is expected to play against Lyon.
The one notable takeaway from PSG’s projected lineup against Lyon is the addition of Angel Di Maria. He has been somewhat of an outcast as of late since Tuchel is now not relying on the Argentine to start in key fixtures. But after his recent two-assist showing against Istanbul Basaksehir, Tuchel may be reversing course and returning to feature the midfielder in PSG’s starting 11 once again.
PSG will be aiming to notch its second straight league win.
