Paris Saint-Germain could soon be in need of a creative playmaker for its midfield, and now the club may be lining up its interest in one Serie A talent.
PSG is currently being linked with Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via CalcioMercato).
PSG is not the only club being linked with Alberto. Juventus and Everton are two other clubs that have Alberto on their transfer radars. Neither side has been reported to show any serious interest in such a possible permanent transfer deal.
The report adds that a departure between Alberto and Lazio could come at the end of the season rather than over the upcoming winter transfer window. More so, the report alludes to recent discontent from the Spanish midfielder, which could then lead to a transfer move for him.
Alberto shined with Lazio last season in its run to a top-four finish in Serie A. He recorded 15 assists in league play, which led the team. But so far this season, he has not been able to mirror last season’s success due to the zero total assists recorded in 10 appearances.
The Spanish midfielder is set to have four more years left on his current contract following this season.
