Since the summer transfer window, Inter Milan has been heavily linked with current Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes. For one, a recent report from CalcioMercato linked Paredes to a swap deal with Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic. However, Inter is now reportedly turning away from its interest in Paredes and onto another PSG talent.
Inter Milan has eyed in on PSG midfielder Ander Herrera, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Le10Sport).
The report alludes to Inter’s interest in instead of PSG adding Paredes into a potential swap deal for midfielder Christian Eriksen, Herrera would be the preferred choice for such a move. However, the report notes that Herrera’s current €8 million a year salary could possibly turn away Inter altogether.
Herrera has been more reliable than Paredes this season based on availability. The Spanish midfielder has totaled for 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season, which is more than Paredes’ 10 total.
Herrera currently has three more years left on his contract following this season.
