FIFA formally announced on Friday the finalists for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award. As expected, Robert Lewandowski was among the top three finalists for the award after finishing the year winning the UEFA Champions League competition with FC Bayern Munich and being the top scorer for the 2019-2020 Bundesliga season.
From there, it was up in the air as to which two players would join Lewandowski as the other finalists for the award. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were options to be among the top three for the award, but other talents such as Neymar, Kevin De Bruyne, and Thomas Muller also had strong cases to be shortlisted for the honor following their top seasons in club football. But in the end, Messi and Ronaldo were picked once again as finalists for the award.
On Twitter, Neymar sarcastically joked about taking on other sports after being snubbed from The Best FIFA Men’s Player award shortlist.
Neymar reacts to being left out of FIFA’s The Best Top 3:
“Since 🎾 didn’t work, its time for 🏀”
“I already give up on 🏀, now im a GAMER 🎧”

Maybe Neymar should not be so quick to give up on his basketball hopes.
