Neymar Jr.’s words to ESPN are making a lot of noise about the possibility of him and Lionel Messi reuniting with Paris Saint-Germain. Regardless of what team they support, every football fan knows that Messi’s contract will expire with FC Barcelona in June at the end of this season.

Ahead of their fixture against Cádiz CF, Barça manager Ronald Koeman spoke with the media to address Neymar’s comments about playing alongside Messi. Despite answering the question about Messi’s future, Koeman made it know that these comments from players outside of their dressing room, like Neymar’s, don’t interest him.

“We know Leo’s situation. If there is one person who has to decide their future, it is Leo himself. External comments don’t interest me,” Koeman said. “These comments do not help us. You cannot control what is said on the outside, but what is happening inside is very different. I hope it will be here, but it is up to him to choose. I cannot give my opinion on this matter.”
