Video: ‘You Need To Wait for the Right Project’ – Former Spurs Manager on Returning To Coaching Amid Potential Interest From PSG

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was a special guest for Sky Sports, where he discussed his time with the London club and his future managerial plans.

It’s no secret that there’s a section of the Paris Saint-Germain fanbase that will want to see Pochettino return to the French capital, where he spent two seasons and lead his former club.

Manager Thomas Tuchel’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and if both parties decide to part ways, Pochettino has gone on the record in saying managing PSG would be a dream job. However, before the 48-year-old decides to jump on any project, he’s making sure that it’s the right fit for him.

“My energy is full, I’d love to be involved in the game, but at the same time, I need to understand that at the moment is a good moment that you need to wait,” Pochettino said. “You need to wait for the right project, and for sure, football is going to bring what football wants, and we need to be open and to accept or not.”

Furthermore, the former Spurs manager isn’t committing to his next job being in the Premier League.

“I don’t know. I’m not going to close any door,” Pochettino said. “I learnt when I was really, really young, Jorge Griffa would say, ‘Mauricio, football is going to dictate your way.’ And I am waiting to feel what is the right project for us, which is the right way to take.”
