On matchday four of the UEFA Champions League group stage, it was all or nothing for Paris Saint-Germain as they needed a victory over RB Leipzig to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive.

PSG came out with Leandro Paredes, Ander Herrera, and Danilo Pereira in the midfield with Ángel Di María, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar Jr forming the trio of attackers. The Brazil international would get on the scoresheet in his return to Champions League action, converting on a penalty kick to score the match’s only goal.

After the victory, Tuchel spoke to RMC Sport about the performance of his squad.

“You said we needed a win, and we got a win. We played with a big heart. It was a difficult game. I knew that in advance, and now we have won,” Tuchel said.

Then the German manager followed that comment with what he’d remember most about this win over RB Leipzig.

The heart, the solidarity, and the effort to stay together, we are in a difficult situation, but we can always count on our solidarity and the heart,” Tuchel said. “I know very well that we expect more with PSG. But if we seriously look at what situation we are playing. We needed a win, and we got it.”
