Video: ‘It’s Amazing to Play in a Stadium Like This’ – PSG Féminine Captain on the Parc Des Prince Providing Motivation to the Squad

It’s no secret that in women’s French football, Paris Saint-Germain Féminine have felt like the little sister to Olympique Lyonnais. It’s often Lyon that gets the best of the capital club, whether in domestic or European competition.

However, Les Parisiennes finally got a significant win over their rival in a historic regular season fixture at the Parc des Princes. Perhaps playing at the stadium provided extra motivation, but PSG picked up a 1-0 win at leaped into first place in Division 1 Féminine.

Despite the win, Irene Paredes, the squad’s captain, spoke with the media to state that although they’re happy with the outcome, the competition continues as they look to overtake Lyon as league champions this season.

“Winning was the goal, and we did it, so we are very happy. It’s amazing to play in a stadium like this. It’s always a little more motivation,” Paredes said. “Today, we were better than usual, we had opportunities, and we are very happy. We have to celebrate, but we only took three points, the competition continues. Inside the locker room, we knew we could beat them. We have said it often before even if we fell in front of them.”
