Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar had a fair showing in the team’s UEFA Champions League home group stage fixture against RB Leipzig. Neymar did not have his way with creating a multitude of goal-scoring chances or scoring world-class goals. However, he did leave a noticeable impact on the game.
The PSG forward finished the contest with the game-winning goal, a pair of goal-scoring chances created and 15 ground duels won. RB Leipzig did what it could to contain Neymar as the Bundesliga side relentlessly resorted to fouling the forward. And on the other hand, manager Thomas Tuchel’s conservative gameplan held back Neymar and the rest of the team’s attacking trio back to an extent.
Still, Neymar provided what he could in PSG’s key win.
For Neymar’s high standards, it was a good enough performance and one that was much-needed for the club.
