Alessandro Florenzi has been a pleasant surprise for Paris Saint-Germain this season. After splitting last season with his parent club AS Roma and on a loan stint with Valencia, Florenzi is emerging as one of the top attacking fullbacks in Ligue 1 over the ongoing campaign. Florenzi has not only established a place as the team’s starting right-back but is chipping in with goal contributions as well.
PSG is already considering triggering the buy option in Florenzi’s loan deal and signing him away from Roma on a permanent transfer deal, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet Corriere dello Sport. PSG is reportedly satisfied with Florenzi’s showings this season. The club would also not have much of an issue paying the purchase option fee for the talent, which is currently set for €9 million.
At this rate, it will only be inevitable before PSG does trigger the purchase option for Florenzi. He has won the starting right-back role away from Thilo Kehrer and the transfer fee is a reasonable amount regardless of the team’s financial standing. More so, if PSG does move forward to trigger the purchase option, it will be interesting to see the contract that both sides go on to agree to in the end.
