Neymar has been in a contract dilemma with Paris Saint-Germain’s board as of late regarding his future at the club. There has been no agreement just yet between the two sides over a new contract deal. But according to Telefoot’s Julien Maynard, Neymar is set on staying with the club and prolonging his career at PSG.
The report mentions that Neymar directed his representatives to alert PSG sporting director Leonardo of his intention to stay on with the club. Neymar’s representatives very likely include his father, Neymar Sr., among others. Neymar’s father has been in recent contact with Leonardo, such as with the reported contract talks meeting that the two had while in Portugal a couple of months ago.
Still, PSG has not yet placed a contract offer on the table for Neymar. It is unclear whether PSG plans to offer Neymar a new deal over the ongoing season or wait until the club has more contract talks with the forward’s representatives.
If PSG does come to terms on a new deal with Neymar, it would surely once and for all end the Barcelona links with the forward.
