There is now gradual optimism regarding the statuses of Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe for France’s UEFA Nations League fixture against Portugal. Both players are currently dealing with slight injuries, but they each trained with the French national team on Thursday, according to a report from RMC Sport.
Both players did not take part in an extensive training session with the French national team on Thursday. Instead, they each spent time in light training as a simple precaution.
Mbappe is still dealing with complications to his hamstring while Kimpembe is recovering from a slight foot injury. The latter did make France’s team list for its recent international friendly fixture against Finland but manager Didier Deschamps left him on the bench. Meanwhile, Deschamps provided an update following the fixture regarding Mbappe’s condition by stating that the forward is “going in the right direction” with his injury.
At the moment, both talents remain a doubt for France’s Nations League duel against Portugal.
