Report: Mbappe a Doubt for PSG’s Champions League Fixture Against RB Leipzig

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe contributed much to the team in the past month goal-scoring-wise. The French forward scored in each of the team’s four league fixtures last month and also added a pair of assists in the UEFA Champions League win against Basaksehir. Mbappe put the team on his back during its October injury crisis, but now, he made be in need of some much-needed rest.

Mbappe is currently deemed as a doubt for PSG’s upcoming Champions League fixture against Leipzig, according to a report from Le Parisien. The forward left the team’s recent league fixture against Nantes in the second half. Manager Thomas Tuchel said after the match that this substitution call was not made more so due to injury but rather for fatigue-related reasons.

Overall, there is a concern for Mbappe regarding his thigh. The club currently deems Mbappe as just dealing with fatigue rather than an injury, but it will know more about his condition after an MRI on Monday. The results from the MRI will determine whether Mbappe will be ready to go for the team’s fixture against Leipzig.

If Mbappe is not able to feature in the match against Leipzig, Tuchel will likely have to rely on Moise Kean, Angel Di Maria, and Pablo Sarabia to help lead the side’s attack.
