Report: Marquinhos in Line to Make a Midfield Start for PSG Against RB Leipzig

In what was deemed as a controversial decision, Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel recently elected to bring back Marquinhos to the midfield. The Brazilian defender has started the last three games for the club in the middle lines as a defensive midfielder. PSG has picked up wins in all three contests while outscoring their opponents by a nine goals to zero margin.

As Le Parisien reports, Marquinhos was part of Tuchel’s first-choice setups during the team’s training sessions on Monday and Tuesday. The Brazilian defender was not reported in taking part in defensive drills and activities over the training session. So, unless Tuchel pulls a surprise and reverses course, Marquinhos will earn a fourth consecutive start as a midfielder for the club in all competitions.

As a result, Danilo Pereira will likely start alongside Presnel Kimpembe to form the team’s starting center-back duo.

Marquinhos is surely hoping to lead the club to victory in what would be his biggest win as the new team captain.
