Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera is expected to be back and available to feature in the team’s upcoming UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig this week, according to a report from RMC Sport.
PSG held out Herrera from its recent Ligue 1 fixture against AS Monaco as a simple precaution. The Spanish midfielder took on a knock to his calf during training on Thursday. Herrera’s situation was not deemed to be an injury but the club simply did not want to take any risks with his condition.
PSG has had a multitude of injuries to its midfielders as of late and can not afford to lose another talent for the same reason.
PSG will surely continue to monitor the midfielder’s condition this week. Unless he suffers a setback from his minor calf issue, he should be ready to face Leipzig in what is now a must-win contest for the club.
