PSG Officially Rules Out Icardi and Sarabia from Champions League Fixture Against Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain made an early announcement on Monday as it has officially ruled out forwards Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia from its upcoming UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Manchester United, the club announced.

Both players are not dealing with significant injuries, but the club is rather taking a precautionary approach after the two suffered minor pain during training. Icardi felt pain in his adductors, while Sarabia is dealing with a slight muscle pain issue. The two forwards will be reevaluated in 48 hours, which will keep them out of action from the club’s contest against Manchester United.

Icardi just had returned to feature with PSG over its recent Ligue 1 fixture against Bordeaux. He played in five minutes off the bench, which was his first in-game action since early October. On the other hand, Sarabia has been one of the most reliable players on the team for manager Thomas Tuchel. This upcoming contest against Manchester United will be the first that he will miss this season due to an injury-related issue.

PSG will determine the status of the two players’ availability against Montpellier following the evaluation period.
