Neymar Ranks 3rd Behind Messi and Aguero for the Most Champions League Goals Scored by a South American Player

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar just continues to make history as one of the top South American players to ever play the sport.

Earlier this week, Neymar scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in his side’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig. The goal for Neymar was his 36th career score in the Champions League, which broke a tie with former PSG forward Edinson Cavani on the all-time Champions League goals leaderboard. More so, the goal gave him a clear standing for the third-most Champions League goals scored by a South American player in the history of this competition.

It is quite an accomplishment for Neymar to hit this feat considering the numerous top South American players who have played in the Champions League. And Neymar is surely not done yet as he is currently still in his prime and has much more to provide as a top goal-scoring forward.
