Neymar Has Recorded an Impressive Penalty Conversion Rate Since Joining PSG

Neymar notched yet another penalty goal this year during Paris Saint-Germain’s recent Ligue 1 home fixture against Bordeaux. The penalty goal was his sixth such score in all competitions for PSG in 2020.

Neymar has certainly emerged as one of the premier penalty kick takers as of late, which was not necessarily the case during his time with FC Barcelona. According to Transfermarkt, Neymar has missed just one penalty attempt over his last two seasons with PSG. On the other hand, Neymar failed to convert on five such attempts over his final two seasons at Barcelona.

In the big picture, Neymar has been as reliable as could be with his penalty kick attempts.

Overall, Neymar has scored on 23 out of 25 penalty kicks in all competitions since joining PSG.

One can attribute many reasons as to why the Brazilian is so efficient in this aspect of his game. From his sheer confidence to his gradual build-up in attempts, Neymar continues to have his way in the penalty kick department.
